I want to share with you the story of my passion for modest clothing. I developed an appreciation for custom-made clothing early on in life: in a small Ukrainian town where I grew up, sewing one’s own dresses was often the only option.
What began as a necessity turned into a hobby and then into a business I opened in Kyiv, and now I am bringing my experience and the best, time-tested products to NYC.
I don’t just make clothes in accordance with tzniut: I wear them, too. All Gera Design clothes are designed in New York by me and made in Ukraine with love and the finest artisanal attention to details that are essential to modest dress.
As a busy Jewish woman, I created styles that are sophisticated yet functional, with pieces you can wear day-to-night, and to special events and casual outings alike.
I am a mother of three and I understand what it’s like to want to look stylish while pregnant. That is why my collection includes dresses that stretch around the tummy – so that you can stay fashionable without the need for maternity clothing.
When I design dresses and coats for girls, I pay equal attention to style and functionality. Universality is the key idea: my designs can be worn both to Synagogue and to family events, and the little girls can still comfortably jump and run around.
I hope you will feel the care I put into each and every one of my designs.
